Compared to fresh fruit, freeze-dried products offer significant advantages: moisture content is as low as 5%, making microbial growth difficult and achieving a stable shelf life of 12-24 months without preservatives; weight and volume are greatly reduced, facilitating transportation and storage, especially suitable for outdoor, emergency food, and cross-border trade scenarios. Compared to conventionally dehydrated fruit, freeze-drying avoids sugar caramelization and nutrient loss caused by high temperatures, better meeting modern consumers' demands for "clean labels" and "high nutritional density."

Currently, freeze-dried fruit is widely used in snack foods, baking ingredients, ready-to-eat meal replacements, and infant formula.
